Focus On Nutrition - The Delightful Strawberry

Strawberries are available year around with the best time to enjoy them being in the spring and early summer months.  We can enjoy strawberries in their natural state or as a topping for waffles or pancakes, have them in our breakfast cereals, on salads, on shortcakes, pound cake, or angel foods and dipped in chocolate or in a milk shake.  They are good no matter how you choose to enjoy them.

 
Strawberries are packed with beneficial antioxidants and nutrients including potassium, folate and fiber.  They have zero fat, zero cholesterol, and zero sodium.  They are high in Vitamin C and help lower blood pressure.
 
Most of the strawberries we receive are from California, however at times we do receive strawberries from Florida also.
 
Strawberries will be one of the feature items in this weeks ad that breaks June 1st.  So be sure and grab you a package or two and enjoy.
