Focus On Nutrition - An Advoacy For Avocados

In our quest for good nutrition and safeguarding our health, we have learned much over the years about the intake of fats.  When we find ourselves constantly reading labels to stay away from saturated and trans fats, its refreshing to find a food that will provide us with a "good' fat - the monounsaturated fat.  And this my friends is what makes the avocado a much sought after food. 

There are so many ways to enjoy an avocado such as in it's natural state or perhaps the favorite way of most is guacamole.  Now we see avocado salads, avocado burgers, avocado and salsa blends, and even avocado casseroles. 

From a nutritional standpoint, the avocado contains 20 essential nutrients including niacin, potassium, fiber, Vitamin E, B-vitamins and folic acid.  The avocado is sodium free and also cholesterol free.  They are also considered low in calories.
