Focus On Nutrition - The Power Of Pepper

They may very well be the most famous chile peppers in the world and they have a huge fan club.  Each year there is a festival in their honor held at their birthplace... the Hatch Valley of New Mexico.  This years festival is scheduled for September 3rd and 4th.  For more information visit their festival site

Hatch peppers along with the chile pepper family have good amounts of Vitamins A and C, along with B6 and B2.  They also contain magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and potassium along with other minerals.  They are low in calories, virtually fat-free and cholesterol free.

It is reported that the capsaicin in Hatch and other chile peppers can cause prostate cancer cells to turn and kill themsleves.

Many people will buy large quantities of Hatch peppers, then roast them and put them in the freezer.  This way this delightful and tasty treat can be enjoyed for longer periods of time.

Hatch peppers are a feature in this weeks coming ad and we plan on ordering good quanities of them so there will be plenty of opportunities to stock up.
